John Maguire is division CEO of Torrey Pines Bank, leading the division’s operations throughout Southern California. Additionally, he oversees Private Client and long standing In Market Relationship Banking for parent company Western Alliance Bank.
Mr. Maguire has more than 30 years of banking experience and leadership, primarily in San Diego County. He was a founding member of Torrey Pines Bank in 2003, became executive vice president in 2007 and previously managed the bank’s La Mesa office before becoming President for Torrey Pines Bank 2009, and assuming his current role in 2018. He has helped shape not only Torrey Pines Bank’s focus on outstanding client service, but also the entire organization’s dedication to personalized attention for customers — a key differentiator for the bank nationwide.
In the San Diego community, Mr. Maguire has been actively involved with the YMCA for more than 25 years and is a former chairman of the board for the YMCA of San Diego County. At Western Alliance, he is a co-founder of CARES@Work, a Business Resource Group for Western Alliance people who are living with cancer, caring for someone with cancer or cancer survivors.
Mr. Maguire was born and raised in San Diego and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of San Diego. He is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School in Seattle.
