In 2019 alone, the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) reported 23,775 complaints about Business Email Compromise (BEC), which resulted in more than $1.7 billion in losses. These are just the attacks which have been reported, it’s estimated that this is only a small fraction of the attacks and losses which have occurred.
