Two Torrey Pines Bank Team Members Honored as YWCA TWIN Awards Nominees

Presented by the YWCA of San Diego County, the 23rd annual In the Company of Women benefit luncheon took place on Friday, May 19, to celebrate extraordinary women and their remarkable achievements. As part of this signature event, the Tribute to Women & Industry Awards (TWIN) recognized women in a managerial, executive or leadership role for their accomplishments in the Mentor, Humanitarian and Visionary categories.

Torrey Pines Bank is proud to have had two team members honored as nominees for this year’s TWIN Mentor Award, which recognizes those who have helped women in the workplace achieve their potential by providing career guidance and advancement opportunities. 

Congratulations to Torrey Pines Bank’s Donna Jackson and Marcia Charest for their well-deserved nominations. Through their exceptional leadership and valuable contributions, they have not only established themselves as role models but have also championed the cause of women in the banking and finance industry, paving the way for others and advocating on their behalf.

Donna Jackson | Vice President, Portfolio Management at Torrey Pines Bank

Donna has been with Torrey Pines Bank since the organization was founded more than 20 years ago. Since then, she has become one of the most valued and respected employees and consistently demonstrates her commitment to both Torrey Pines Bank and its clients. She mentors others effortlessly, taking the time to listen and sharing thoughtful feedback. Donna is an active member of the bank’s African American Business Resource Group, which fosters networking, professional development, mentoring and leadership opportunities with a focus on recruitment, retention, learning and advancement of its members. Her participation in the group helps support diversity, cultural awareness and inclusivity in order to foster a positive relationship between the bank’s employees and the community. Outside of Torrey Pines Bank, Donna also volunteers with the Salvation Army Annual Kettle Capital Campaign and helps encourage participation from other Torrey Pines Bank team members, demonstrating that community outreach is an important part of leadership. 

Marcia Charest | Senior Fraud Investigator at Torrey Pines Bank 

Marcia has been a member of Torrey Pines Bank for over 18 years and has an impressive 40-year tenure in the banking industry. Throughout that time, she has demonstrated exceptional mentoring abilities, customizing growth opportunities to match the unique needs and skill sets of her teams. She encourages them to embrace new challenges, addresses their apprehensions, and actively fosters organizational growth. Marcia displays a special commitment to empowering women in their professional journeys by providing them with opportunities that boost their decision-making capabilities and build confidence, and celebrates their accomplishments alongside them. Her tenacity and dedication, combined with relationships with both law enforcement and other banking institutions, greatly contribute to preventing and recovering monetary losses for both Torrey Pines Bank and its clients. Outside of her primary responsibilities, Marcia is an advocate for the YWCA and is on the local chapter of the bank’s Women’s Alliance Business Resource Group, which is dedicated to attracting, developing, retaining and advancing women.

In addition to the Tribute to Women & Industry Awards (TWIN), the In the Company of Women luncheon included an keynote Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, actor, and producer Dawnn Lewis, a champagne reception, and an exclusive VIP After Party. The proceeds from the event will benefit YWCA’s life-changing programs for adult and child survivors of domestic violence.
