YWCA Recognizes Two Torrey Pines Bank Team Members as Honorees in TWIN Awards
On Thursday, April 25, the YWCA of San Diego County presented its annual “In the Company of Women” benefit luncheon, which celebrates remarkable women and their exceptional achievements.
As part of the signature event, the honorees and winners of the organization’s Tribute to Women & Industry Awards (TWIN) were also recognized. The TWIN awards recognize women in managerial, executive or leadership roles for their contributions in the workplace, the community or their industries.
Torrey Pines Bank is proud to have two team members honored as nominees for this year’s awards. Kerrie Carty, Loan Operations Team Lead for Torrey Pines Bank, was nominated for this year’s TWIN Visionary Award, which recognizes those who have made significant contributions to their industry in a managerial, executive or professional leadership role. Additionally, Geneva Romero, Preferred Banking Associate Director, was nominated for this year’s TWIN Mentor Award, which recognizes those who have helped women in the workplace achieve their potential by providing career guidance and advancement opportunities.
Kerrie Carty | Loan Operations Team Lead at Torrey Pines Bank
Kerrie has been with Torrey Pines Bank for more than 15 years, seven of those in a leadership position for the bank’s Loan Operations group. In her role, Kerrie is known for her incredible attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively and “can-do” attitude. As Loan Operations Team Lead, she is responsible for coordinating, processing and closing loans for a variety of clients.
With oversight of a team of Loan Administrators, Kerrie mentors her team members with positivity and grace, always willing to go above and beyond what is required of her for both her team and the client. She confidently takes on new lines of business and draws upon her years of experience in banking to lay new foundations for Torrey Pines Bank. Kerrie is actively involved in the San Diego Chapter of Western Alliance Bank’s Women’s Alliance, where she helps to inspire, motivate and mentor other women in the organization. Kerrie also devotes time to volunteering with local organizations such as Junior Achievement BizTown.
Geneva Romero | Preferred Banking Associate Director at Torrey Pines Bank
Geneva has been with Torrey Pines Bank for more than 18 years. During that time, she has been honored as one of the bank’s Culture Champions, a recognition program designed to celebrate those who demonstrate, support and cultivate the values, attitudes and behaviors associated with Western Alliance Bank’s culture.
As Preferred Banking Associate Director, Geneva is responsible for partnering with leadership to coach and execute the full client life cycle for clients. However, her true strength is in mentorship, leadership and building solid relationships throughout Torrey Pines Bank and beyond. At Torrey Pines Bank, she is an active member of both the Women's Alliance and Alianza (Hispanic, Latin & Allies) Business Resource Group, where she is dedicated to supporting employees and community members through engagement, education, outreach, mentorship and leadership. Outside work, she has devoted time to volunteering and fundraising with Junior Achievement BizTown, Salvation Army Red Kettle Counts and Miss Mission Beach. She is passionate about helping others and advocating for the advancement of those on her team.
In addition to the Tribute to Women & Industry Awards (TWIN), the “In the Company of Women” luncheon included a keynote from race and gender justice activist Rev. Nontombi Naomi Tutu, a champagne reception and an exclusive VIP after-party. The proceeds from the event benefit YWCA’s life-changing programs for adult and child survivors of domestic violence.
